Our old fashioned 80’s fireplace desperately needed updating, and with children and pets, an open fire wasn’t as safe as we liked. ADL completely transformed our lounge by taking the fireplace back to the blockwork, installing a multi-fuel stove, hearth, mantel, and re-building the brickwork.

We’re really pleased with the more contemporary finish, and everyone comments on how great the fireplace looks. It’s also a lot more efficient than our old open fire.

Alan came to quote to fit a new chimney on the same day. He was quick to respond and helped me find the best stove. The fireplace was delivered with faults several times and Alan was incredibly good about it and when it eventually got delivered correctly he fitted it very nicely and cleared up any mess. Alan helped us install a new Stovax wood burner, requiring a c40m chimney liner, reshaping of the opening, new lintel and new herth.

The work was completed to an excellent standard, neat and tidy, everything completed on time and to budget.

Moreover, we hit a pretty significant snag when installing the chimney liner that could not have been foreseen – a structural blockage in the chimney. Alan went away, figured out the solution, came back the next day and virtually climbed the chimney to solve!
